Proposed seat within a line of study furniture, focused on sustainability and digital manufacturing

The Guapy project consisted of developing a design based on the analysis of an existing one, the TipToe legs, which stand out for their durability and the possibility of customizing furniture, contributing to the circular economy.

The project focused on designing a seat and its product line, centered around the activity of studying. This line emphasizes sustainability by using durable materials and reinforced joints that allow for the exchange of worn-out parts, ensuring a long product lifespan.
Materiality Materials: Steel, Eucalyptus plywood, Aquaclean fabric.

Production Methods The production methods revolve around digital manufacturing, utilizing CNC routing and plasma cutting. We propose making the digital files freely available to facilitate the manufacturing and replacement of parts anywhere in the world.
From this design, we were able to create a final prototype, staying true to the materials and production methods, which taught us techniques such as seat upholstery, sheet metal folding, and plasma and router cutting.
